Sunderland Greyhound Stadium can confirm that all greyhounds involved in the incident at the start of the race 3 on Friday 21 November are fit and healthy, following a malfunction of the traps.
Stadium vets attended all runners immediately following the incident and confirmed that a single greyhound had minor bruising and scratches, which were treated with painkillers and anti inflammatory medication on site.
All of the other greyhounds were unhurt. All greyhounds were passed fit to return home, as normal, and none required any further veterinary treatment.

Sunderland Greyhound Stadium have been in touch with the Trainers of all greyhounds involved since Friday and confirm that they remain physically fit.
The traps used on Friday were taken out of use with immediate effect and will remain so as an investigation into their malfunction continues. This is currently being undertaken alongside the manufacturer.
