Tickets & Booking
When do online tickets close?
Tickets can be purchased online until 3pm on the day of the event. After this time tickets may be purchased, subject to availability, by calling 0191 5686 200
Can I purchase tickets on the day?
Yes! Trackside admission can be purchased at the turnstile but Winning Deal tickets cannot. Restaurant tickets may be available but cannot be guaranteed.
Do you offer a group discount?
Our Winning Deal package is already heavily discounted and is for groups of 6 or more adults.
For our Dining and Executive Box Customers please contact us on 0191 5686 200 for larger groups to discuss your options.
When will I receive my tickets?
All tickets will be sent via email, this includes tickets for restaurant and hospitality bookings. You will receive your ticket(s) two weeks before the fixture you are due to attend. If you’ve booked your tickets within two weeks of the fixture, these will be sent manually during office hours as soon as possible. Sometimes these can land in your junk folder so please check before getting in touch.
Do I need to print my tickets?
No, we can scan e-tickets off mobile devices (mobile phones & tablets). If you wish to print them off and bring them along in paper format this is fine.
Can I transfer / refund my tickets or packages?
Once purchased, refunds or transfers on tickets and any other online purchases will only be available in the case of fixture abandonment, event cancellations and not for any other reason. Please see our terms and conditions of entry for full details.
Can I get a window seat in the restaurant?
We allocate seating based on when a customer has booked but also to allow us to maximise the space available.
All of the tables in our Trackside Restaurant are window tables with a small number in a raised area, however this is still fully window facing.
Can Children come racing?
We welcome children and families to Sunderland Greyhound Stadium. Children aged 17 and under are admitted trackside for free when accompanied by an adult and our restaurant ad executive boxes can cater to children of all ages.
The only area that children are not allowed in is our After Racing Disco as this is 18+

Gates open at:
1:30pm for our afternoon meetings on Monday's & Wednesday's
5:30pm for our evening meetings on Tuesday's & Friday's
10:15am for our morning meetings on Sunday
What time will the racecourse close?

6:30pm on Monday's & Wednesday's
10:30pm on Tuesday's & Friday's

Travel & Entry
Do you have on-site parking ?
We are situated on Newcastle Road with a large onsite car park. Cars are left on site at the owners own risk, if you leave your vehicle on site overnight you will be able to collect it on the next raceday.
What do I need to wear?
Most racegoers choose a smart casual outfit when attending the races and some, especially at Christmas, do like to get dressed up. We are happy for most clothing styles as long as clothing is family friendly. Please click here to view our dress code.
How do I get to the racecourse?

Can I arrive by coach?
Yes, absolutely. We welcome coach groups to the racecourse. On arrival, coaches must head to the right side of the car park area where they can stay through out the meeting if they choose.
Food & Drink
What bars and food outlets will be open?
You’ll always be able to grab a drink and bite to eat when you come racing. Our Snackbar & Winning Post Bar downstairs are open for all 5 of our race meetings.
Our Trackside Restaurant and Executive Boxes are open every Friday & Sunday and on special occasions throughout the year which you can find on our website
Can I bring my own food or drink to the stadium?
Although we do allow birthday cakes to be brought into our restaurant, no other food or drink is to be allowed on site.
Do you cater for different dietary requirements?
Our website will always show variations of our menu for vegetarians and vegans as well as people who need a gluten free diet.

Do you have highchairs?
We do have highchairs' in our restaurant but they are limited so we recommend you speak to us before the event to reserve one.
Accessibility
How accessible is your racecourse?
We do all we can to ensure our visitors enjoy their day. This includes making our venue an easily accessible place and adding in extra features to make guests comfortable wherever possible. Click here for more information.
Betting & Payments
Do you have cash machines?
No – There are no cash machines on site but we do offer cashback from the Winning Post Bar Area. All of our food & drink facilities accept debit/credit cards it is only tote betting that is cash only
Where can I place a bet on course?
We have tote betting in the Winning Post Bar as well as in the Restaurant and Executive box areas. We also have an onsite bookie in our downstairs bar area.
Please note that the tote betting is cash only
Where can I pick up a race card?
All of our admission packages come with a race card.
For general admission & Winning Deal you will collect your race card from the turnstile on entrance to the stadium. For Restaurant and Executive Box customers you will find your race cards on your tables once seated.
What payment method do you accept?
All bars and food outlets accept cash or card. Our tote betting services are cash only. There is cashback available on site if required.
Experience
Can we bring a cake and balloons?
If you are in our restaurant or executive boxes you can bring a cake and any reasonable decorations you like. If you would like to set up your table to your liking then please contact 0191 5686 200 and speak to a member of our team who will be able to advise when you can access the building to do so.
Balloons and other decorations are not permitted in our downstairs bar or any of the trackside facilities on site.
Can I smoke and where?
Smoking/Vaping is permitted either outside the front doors of the stadium or on our Trackside terraces. Smoking or vaping are not permitted in any building.
Where is best to stay overnight?
There are plenty of hotels and other accommodation available a short distance from the Stadium. Please visit the local tourism site online or google Places to Stay in Sunderland for your best options
Does the weather affect the racing?
Our track is extremely robust and we can race safely all year round, however the safety of our canine athletes, their trainers, our staff and our customers is paramount. If we feel the weather will impact on us operating safely we will abandon the race meeting. Although this happens very rarely, we will contact all customers who have purchased a ticket as well as posting on our social media pages and on our homepage. Please check before leaving the house to avoid disappointment.
If we do have to cancel, a member of our bookings team will be in contact to discuss a refund or a transfer to another meeting.
What items can't I bring into the Racecourse?
Knives/Lethal weapons, Alcohol, Illegal Drugs, Fireworks and Glass are all forbidden at the racecourse. Bags larger than A4 size are also not allowed and we are unable to store items for customers whilst they are on site.

Dogs
Can I bring a dog?
With the exception of Guide Dogs of the Blind and other Assistance Dogs, dogs are not permitted to enter the racecourse. In the interests of animal welfare, no dogs are permitted to be left in cars and we politely request that all dogs are left at home.
Photography
Can I take photographs?
At all meetings we ask you to ensure that no flash photography takes place when the dogs are on parade or racing. Otherwise, you are welcome to take photographs for personal, non-commercial use only. You cannot take images for commercial purposes without prior permission from the racecourse and provision of press accreditation.
Note Professional filming and photography takes place here at the racecourse for various publications and broadcasting and race goers (including families) consent to being filmed, photographed and otherwise recorded by the Racecourse or any authorised third-party. By entering the racecourse, you accept our terms and conditions of entry, which authorised by the Racecourse the right to broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings or images of you without payment or other compensation in any promotional literature produced by Arena Racing Company.
